Description:

This dance workshop will take you through the basics of building a dance piece from the ground up! Learn ways movement can be used to express thoughts and ideas and in this case, how dance can represent concepts from the Genesis account. Suitable for both beginning and experienced dancers.

What to bring:

Clothes suitable for movement and a water bottle.

Sonya Pascolini

Sonya has been dancing most of her life as well as enjoying the performing arts in theatre, film & music theatre. After finishing the HSC in 2009, Sonya graduated with a Bachelor of Dance Performance, majoring in Contemporary dance, from Excelsia College (formerly, Wesley Institute) in 2015, finishing her dance training through The Academy of Music and Performing Arts (AMPA). Sonya has also completed short acting courses through the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) as well as The Actors Centre, Sydney. Since finishing her studies, Sonya has worked as a freelance performer in theatre, film and commercials, performing alongside names such as Greg Page (original Yellow Wiggle). Among acting work, Sonya has also put her hand to choreographing for the Blue Mountains Musical Society in their 2015 production of Joseph & The Technicolor Dreamcoat. Sonya is currently a full time mum, as well as managing a small dance studio in the Blue Mountains, Mountains Dance Collective, offering open dance classes in varying styles for adults
